Introducing solid foods: how and when to start

WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO LEARN IN THIS MASTERCLASS?

The time has come. Your little one is going to start with solids! As a parent, your mind starts to fill with a thousand questions: How do I start? Am I doing it correctly? Do not worry! It is completely normal to be nervous. Kennis-Smaken helps you get the knowledge you need to make informed decisions about your child´s nutrition. For this masterclass we will cover different topics. We will start with your child´s development/behaviour. There are certain milestones that show you that your child is ready to eat solids. After this class you will be able to correctly identify them. We will also discuss the guidelines that are given by different institutes. Parents continuously hear different guidelines (start at 4 months vs start at 6 months). Especially if you are a NL-based expat mother like myself, you may have already realised that there seems to be conflicting information to what different countries and institutions say. We will discuss the scientific findings that support these guidelines in order to understand the reason behind these differences. Once we cover the basics, we will continue on the topic of food texture. We will discuss what type of texture you should start with and how to transition as your child grows older. Finally, we will talk about the most popularly known approaches to start the introduction to solids (for example, traditional vs baby led weaning), what are they about and what are its pros and cons. Are you ready? See you in the masterclass!!
